A resort with tradition. The fact that Sopot is an ideal place to take care of your health has been known for at least 200 years. In 1819 in a small fishing village, consisting of several clay huts, the first Warmbad, i.e. a bathing establishment, has been opened. It's equipment were two wooden bath tubs, to which sea water was carried in buckets, and then heated. The locals from nearby Gdańsk eagerly used such medical baths. Sopot's popularity grew rapidly, and along with it, new spa facilities were created in the following years, including Kurhaus, i.e. Health resort, built on the initiative of Jean Georg Haffner, a French doctor believed to be the founder of a seaside resort.  Clean air and healing waters. The town has retained its spa features to these days. Contemporary Sopot is one of the leaders in air purity rankings. In the 20th century, the curative offer of the town was enriched by Zdroj of St. Wojciech, from which bromine brine is extracted with unique healing properties - especially when it comes to rheumatic diseases and skin ailments.  New curative quality.
